Working With Churches In Africa
- In the past, AIMM was a sending agency, receiving missionary candidates from a variety of participating conferences, and sending them to Africa.
- Currently, AIMM no longer sends long term mission workers, but rather helps support programs developed and run by national churches. AIMM partner conferences whether African, European or North American continue to send workers, who work under the supervision of the national Partnership Council. AIMM also contributes to some expatriate worker-run programs.
- AIMM helps to accompany a variety of initiatives, mostly North American, which seek to provide encouragement and support to African churches. Such initiatives are long term; depend substantially on personal relationships; require regular short term visits between North America and Africa; and are linked in some way to the larger church both here in North America and also in Africa.
